	Architect and your Building Permit No need to be intimidated, instead be excited, it can be a very fun process. Not really difficult if you’ve been through the process before. We can handle the communications for you or just refer you to some of our favorites depending on who may perform better for your needs and personalities. Just like anything, it is all about the relationship and who open the communication is. A great relationship will get you what you want the first or second time you meet with your architect, a strained relationship will cause you to go through a long lengthy process which can be quite frustrating. We have MANY floor plans that you can look through to get started or please bring in something that you like that we can turn into perfection just for you. Currently January 2008 we are experiencing GREAT pricing and GREAT turnaround times with Architects, Contractors, Building Department Permitting process so NOW is definitely the time to build while timeframes and construction costs are playing HARD in your favor.
	What is a Smart Home? It is anything that you want it to be, here are just a few for instances... Teenager Management You have a teenage kid who’s curfew is 11pm on weekend evenings… you go to bed at 9:30 because you wake early. You can “program” your house to do one (or all) of the options provided, remember we’re having fun here… A: If any outside door opens after 11pm and then the child’s bedroom motion is triggered… the house can “text message” your teenager with the following… “Leave your car keys on the kitchen counter, your grounded for two weekends for violation of family respect… ie. curfew – we love you and we are happy your are home safe” B: If you must go to sleep and you want to be awakened if your child is not home by 11pm… The House can turn your bedroom lights up to high and turn on designated wakeup music if motion and door triggered are not indicated by a designated time. Prior to this disturbing wake up… the house could Text the missing Teen to prewarn them that in 15 minutes all their friends phones will be called and all their friends family’s will be disturbed because they are not where their loving family expects them to be. Your teen can receive the following… “In fifteen minutes your parents will be awakened because you have not met your curfew commitments – with Love and concern your house” Energy Efficient Timers… You can preprogram certain rooms to have their light switches on timers.. The laundry room, the Pantry the Powder Room – these rooms are usually ten minute rooms. But if for some reason you are in there for longer a tap on the switch can maintain the loght on till you turn it off. All OFF… This single button can turn off every light, every fan, every fireplace, every TV, virtually any switch that you determine OFF at the touch of one BUTTON. No more running from room to room prior to leaving your home. LEAVE… Just like All Off, this button can be programmed to turn off what you what off, turn down what you want turned down (thermostats etc.), set certain lights on to appear like your home – this button can be used to preset most anything you can think of. TRAVEL… Make your house look like there is someone inside… press this button when you leave on Vacation and the thermostat changes to the most economical setting for the time of the year and then starts changing lights at Dusk to make it look like someone is in the house… lights on in the living room, TV on for an hour long program, then Kitchen lights on for 20 minutes, then off and the stair lights and a couple of bedroom lights and maybe a bathroom or two… then dark except for the once or twice a night bathroom light on and off for 45 seconds. I like to call this program – “hire the ghost sitter.” Media Management – and simple The house can manage your DVD collection, your CD collection, your Sirius or other type of radio as well as your Cable channel or your Satellite connection. ALL components are located in the “Smart Room” leaving you with ONLY a TV on the wall or on the stand – no cable box, no VCR, no radio, no boxes, no Extension cords, NONE of the Typical Clutter under or alongside of your TV! The cleanest looking system out there. And all managed by truly the simplest remote control or the child friendly touch screen. Great grandma and the 5 year old niece can operate this system with almost no training – we’ve proved it. Security Multi directional camera’s, zoom control, color, night vision, motion sensors, simple simple simple and again it can be programmed to wake you and “show” you what set off the motion detector on your driveway – or Email you a picture on your phone of what is climbing your back fence – RIGHT NOW – long before a normal security system can get relayed to a monitoring company, and make a couple of phone calls and decide if they should dispatch. Accessible You can access “your house” from anywhere that you can get internet connection… on your laptop, your PDA, the coffee shop computer – with NO special programs. Virtually anywhere you can access the internet and type in your password. Ease of Use & Reliability The system may need to be reprogrammed to do different thing for you as your needs change or as you become more interested in some of the other tricks that your house can do. No need to wait home for a programmer to access your house… it can be done over the internet. Almost any change can be performed without any inconvenience to you.
